MYBath: A Bathroom Cabinet for Everyone

Designing with User Comfort in Mind

The MYBath bathroom cabinet, designed by Kemal Yıldırım, addresses the challenges faced by children when using traditional bathroom cabinets. With a focus on user comfort and safety, this innovative design ensures that individuals of all ages can easily and securely utilize the washbasin and mirror.

One of the unique features of the MYBath bathroom cabinet is the inclusion of a movable step below the counter. This step can be locked under the cabinet, providing a stable platform for children to stand on while using the washbasin and mirror. Additionally, a handle has been incorporated into the counter, allowing children to hold onto it for added support and stability.

To further enhance usability, the MYBath bathroom cabinet features angled covers with mirrors at the center and sides of the upper cabinet. This design element ensures that users can easily see their faces from different angles, making grooming tasks more convenient and efficient.

The MYBath bathroom cabinet is not only functional but also offers ample storage space. The lower and upper cabinets are made from six modules, which are assembled using minifix connection elements. The use of lacquered and melamine-coated Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) material in the production of the cabinet ensures durability and sustainability, as MDF is recyclable and reusable.

Started in June 2015 in Ankara, Turkey, the MYBath project aimed to create a bathroom cabinet that caters to the needs of users of all ages. By considering the challenges faced by children and incorporating innovative design elements, Kemal Yıldırım has successfully created a bathroom cabinet that promotes inclusivity and user comfort.

The MYBath bathroom cabinet has received recognition for its exceptional design. In 2016, it was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate practicality, innovation, and adherence to professional and industrial standards. The MYBath bathroom cabinet stands out for its integration of industry best practices and its contribution to creating a better world.
